- We remove the old windshield and clean the original polyurethane adhesive.
- Let the polyurethane thickness be dried and decrease to 1 mm with a knife.
Step 2 – Windshield preparation

- Make sure the surfaces are clean and untouched.
- Light action safe.
- Using the thin, 3MTM Single Step Low VOC Primer 58012 layer on the Glass-Ceramics for a minimum of 10 minutes, using the 3MTM Applicator 08600.
- 3MTM Activator 50661, specially formulated for encapsulated, pre-applied, and pre-primed windshields, is used instead and as applicable.
Step 3 – Fitting the windshield.
- Apply selected 3M™ Glass Adhesive with an appropriate applicator to the newly prepared windshield or prepared pinch weld. For product and applicator overview, see below.
- Fit the windscreen on the pinch weld, clean with 3M™ Glass Cleaner 08631, and 3M™ Panel Wipe.
